Zirconia is not etchable with hydrofluoric acid the way lithium disilicate is, so the bonding chemistry runs through a different path. The 2019 consensus from the Academy of Dental Materials groups zirconia cementation into three protocols: conventional (RMGI or zinc phosphate), self-adhesive resin, and adhesive resin with a 10-MDP primer.
