Static guided implant placement starts with a CBCT scan of the patient's jaw and an intraoral scan of the existing dentition or edentulous arch. The two datasets get merged in implant planning software, where the clinician and lab technician position virtual implants relative to bone volume, nerve location, and the planned prosthetic. From that approved plan, the lab designs a surgical guide that seats on teeth, bone, or mucosa with stabilization pins, then 3D-prints it in biocompatible resin. The guide carries metal sleeves at each implant site that constrain the drill angle and depth.
