Scanners are faster and the file integrity is better, but a well-taken PVS impression on a deep subgingival margin still beats a contaminated scan. We process roughly 70% digital and 30% analog cases in 2025, and the remake rate sits under 2.5% on both pipelines because the technician on the case (not a generic CAD pool) reviews every file or model before design starts.</p><p>Decision rules we give referring dentists: <strong>Choose intraoral scan when</strong> the prep is supragingival or equigingival, the field is dry, and turnaround matters (most single units, most short-span bridges, most clear aligner cases). <strong>Pick analog PVS when</strong> the margin sits 1mm or more subgingival with active sulcus bleeding, when the case is a full-arch implant verification, or when the practice does not yet own a calibrated scanner.</p><p>If you are scanning, send the STL plus a clinical note with shade, stump shade, and contact preferences. Your assigned technician (Boyan, Stefan, or one of the senior CAD team depending on case type) will call within the same business day if anything in the file needs clarification before milling starts.</p>
