Every implant-supported case at Dani Dental opens with a digital intake review before any milling begins. When you send an intraoral scan or CBCT file, the assigned technician reviews fixture platform, emergence zone, occlusal loading, and opposing dentition before CAD is started. If something looks off, the technician calls you. Not a ticket. Not an email chain three days later. A call, same day. For single-unit implant crowns, the workflow runs on a scanbody-to-restoration model using Nobel Biocare, Straumann, Zimmer Biomet, and Implant Direct library data maintained current in our CAD software. Custom titanium bases and zirconia abutments are milled in-house on our 5-axis milling units. Monolithic zirconia restorations are sintered, characterized, and inspected against the original scan file before shipping. Fit checks are not optional; they are part of the production ticket. Full-arch implant cases (All-on-4, All-on-6, All-on-X frameworks) follow a phased protocol: verification jig fabrication first, then prototype try-in (PMMA or bisacrylic), then final framework and final prosthetic. Each phase has a defined turnaround window quoted at case intake so your surgical calendar has real dates to plan against. Frameworks are produced in milled zirconia or titanium depending on case design, with pink ceramic or acrylic gingival elements layered by the same technician who designed the case. Custom implant abutments, particularly for cases where soft-tissue emergence and esthetic zone demands require more than a stock abutment, are designed in CAD with the emergence profile drawn from your tissue-level impression or scan. We do not default to stock components when the scan data shows a non-standard emergence angle or a subgingival finish line deeper than 1.5 mm. The technician flags these and proposes the custom route with a one-line rationale attached to your case file. Communication at each phase uses the Dani Dental case portal, which logs every note, photo, and approval in one thread. The technician's direct extension is printed on the shipping label. If a case ships and something needs adjustment at try-in, you reach the person who built it, not a general service line. Which implant systems does Dani Dental support?
We maintain current CAD library data for Nobel Biocare, Straumann (Bone Level and Tissue Level), Zimmer Biomet, and Implant Direct platforms. If you work with a system not on that list, send us the scanbody and system reference and the technician will confirm library availability before you submit the case. Most requests are resolved within one business day.
What scan format do you accept for implant cases?
We accept STL and PLY files from all major intraoral scanners, including iTero, 3Shape TRIOS, Carestream, and Medit. For full-arch cases requiring surgical guide design or CBCT integration, DICOM files are accepted alongside the surface scan. If you are sending a physical impression instead of a digital scan, we can digitize it in-house, though that adds one business day to the turnaround window.
How long does a full-arch All-on-X case take from scan to final delivery?
Full-arch cases run in phases. The verification jig ships within 3 business days of scan receipt. After your try-in confirmation, the PMMA prototype is delivered within 5 business days. Final zirconia or titanium framework and final prosthetic follow in 7 to 10 business days post-approval. Total elapsed time depends on your try-in schedule, but we quote each phase at intake so you have real production windows.
Can I send a case without a scanbody if only a crown-level impression is available?
Yes. We accept polyvinyl siloxane and polyether implant-level impressions with a transfer coping in place. The case is poured and digitized in-house using our lab scanner. Turnaround adds one business day for the pour-and-scan step. If the impression shows an emergence angle outside stock abutment range, the technician will contact you before proceeding to custom abutment design.
What materials do you use for implant-supported crowns and why?
Monolithic zirconia is our default material for posterior implant crowns because it delivers the best combination of fracture strength (over 1,000 MPa in 5Y-TZP formulations) and low occlusal wear on opposing enamel. For anterior esthetics where translucency matters, we use high-translucency zirconia or layered zirconia with feldspathic porcelain on the facial surface. Material selection is documented in the case file and reviewed with the referring clinician when esthetic zone cases require it.
How does Dani Dental handle remake requests on implant cases?
If a restoration does not seat or fails at try-in for a fabrication reason, we remake it at no charge. Send the piece back with a brief clinical note describing the fit issue. The same technician reviews the original scan data, identifies the discrepancy, and remakes the case. Standard remake turnaround is 3 to 5 business days. We track remake causes internally; our implant remake rate has remained below 2.5 percent over the trailing 12 months.
Do you fabricate surgical guides for implant placement?
Yes. Tooth-supported and mucosa-supported surgical guides are fabricated in-house using CBCT plus intraoral scan data. Guide design is reviewed by the assigned technician against the planned implant position before printing. Turnaround is 3 to 5 business days from receipt of DICOM and surface scan files. For cases where you are also ordering the final prosthetic from Dani Dental, guide and prosthetic planning are coordinated in the same case thread.
