Every retainer case at Dani Dental enters the same intake triage used for crown and implant work: the case file, whether a PVS impression or an intraoral scan (iTero, 3Shape, or Medit), is logged and assigned to a named technician within two hours of receipt. That technician owns the case through delivery. No anonymous handoffs between departments mid-fabrication. For Essix retainers, we use 0.040-inch and 0.030-inch Zendura FLX thermoplastic sheet, vacuum-formed over stone models poured from your impressions or printed from your digital file using our 3D Systems Figure 4 printer. Model accuracy is verified against your scan before forming begins. Thin spots and uneven margins are caught at the model stage, not after the patient is in the chair. Hawley retainers are built on the bench by technicians who also fabricate removable partial frameworks, so wire adaptation and acrylic processing are not outsourced to a junior step in the workflow. Clasps are contoured and adjusted to the model before shipping. If your patient prefers a colored acrylic base, we stock 12 standard options and can match a custom shade on request. Fixed bonded retainers use dead-soft 0.0215-inch braided wire, pre-formed to a stone model of the lingual surfaces and shipped ready to bond. We include a case-specific fit note from the fabricating technician describing the wire adaptation and any irregularities on the lingual anatomy that influenced the bend. That note takes 90 seconds to read and saves the bonding appointment from surprises. Quality check before every shipment uses a standardized six-point checklist: margin seal, occlusal clearance (Essix), wire adaptation (Hawley and bonded), surface finish, articulation, and labeling accuracy. Cases that do not pass all six points are remade before the shipping label prints. Turnaround clock resets only if the clinical record submitted was incomplete or changed after fabrication began.
