Avondale Occlusal Splint / Night Guard

Avondale practices working with parafunctional and TMD patients need splints that fit the first time. A device that needs a second adjustment visit costs the dentist chair time and costs the patient confidence. Dani Dental fabricates flat-plane, Michigan-style, and NTI-adjacent occlusal splints from milled hard acrylic or thermoformed dual-laminate stock, depending on the case presentation and your protocol preference. We accept intraoral scans directly from iTero, Trios, and Medit, or conventional PVS impressions if that is still your workflow.

THE DETAIL

How we build it.

Most national-network labs route occlusal-splint cases through a general production queue. You submit, you wait, and if there is a fit issue you open a ticket. Dani Dental assigns one technician per case. That technician's direct line is on the delivery slip. For an Avondale practice managing a schedule of bruxism patients, the difference shows up in adjustment-appointment frequency, not in marketing language. Digital workflow integration is the other gap. Category-wide, the standard still involves pouring a stone model from a PVS impression, scanning that model, and then milling from the scan-of-a-pour. Dani accepts the intraoral scan file directly, skipping the pour step entirely. That is one fewer material conversion, one fewer error surface, and typically 24 to 36 fewer hours in production time compared to the analog-first path used by most regional labs in the Southwest market. On pricing: occlusal-splint cases at Dani Dental are quoted per-unit with no material surcharges added at shipping. Avondale practices can request a price sheet before placing the first case. No account minimums, no enrollment fees. If the first splint does not seat within your acceptable tolerance, the remake is on us, no paperwork required.

GETTING CASES TO US

Logistics, to the bench.

Either path gets you the same five-business-day standard turnaround. For bruxism patients requiring heavier-duty protection, the milled hard-acrylic build is the default recommendation. Vertical dimension, canine guidance, and anterior coupling are calibrated to the opposing model, not estimated. If you are sending a digital scan from a Avondale operatory, the file goes straight to CAD without an analog conversion step, which removes one of the most common sources of dimensional error in splint fabrication. Soft night guards are also available for patients who cannot tolerate hard appliances, fabricated from dual-laminate thermoformed material with a hard outer shell and a soft tissue-contact layer. If you are unsure which design matches the patient, call the lab before you take the impression. That five-minute conversation saves a remake.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What practices ask

Do you accept intraoral scan files for occlusal-splint fabrication, or do I need to send a physical impression?
Both are accepted. Dani Dental receives files from iTero, Trios, and Medit scanners directly. PVS impressions are also fine if that is your current workflow. The five-business-day standard turnaround applies to both paths. Digital scan submission is faster at the intake stage but does not change the production-cycle clock once the file is in the queue.
What splint designs does Dani Dental fabricate?
The core offerings are flat-plane hard-acrylic splints, Michigan-style anterior-guided splints, and dual-laminate soft-hard night guards. NTI-adjacent anterior deprogrammers are available on request. If the patient's case presentation does not fit cleanly into one of those categories, call the lab before taking records. A five-minute pre-case conversation prevents a remake.
What is the turnaround time for an occlusal splint from an Avondale practice?
Standard turnaround is five business days from the date we receive a usable scan file or physical impression. Rush cases can be discussed on a per-case basis depending on current production volume. Contact the lab directly to confirm rush availability before promising a patient delivery date. We do not post a blanket rush guarantee because production slots vary week to week.
How is pricing structured for night guards and splints?
Per-unit pricing with no material surcharges added at shipping. There are no account minimums and no enrollment fees required to place occlusal-splint cases. Avondale practices can request a current price sheet before the first case is submitted. The number on the price sheet is the number on the invoice.
What happens if the splint does not fit correctly?
If the appliance does not seat within your acceptable tolerance on delivery, Dani Dental remakes it at no charge. No remake request form, no dispute process. Contact the technician whose name is on the delivery slip, describe the fit issue, and the remake is initiated the same day. The technician who built the original case handles the remake unless there is a specific reason to reassign it.
Who do I contact if I have a question about a case already in production?
Every case ships with the fabricating technician's direct contact line. For cases currently in production, you can reach the lab during business hours and ask for that technician by name. Questions are answered the same business day in most cases, within 24 hours at most. There is no general voicemail queue for case-specific inquiries.
