Gilbert Custom Shade Matching
Gilbert practices run a wide case mix: busy family practices in the San Tan corridor, cosmetic, forward offices near Val Vista, and multi, doctor groups handling everything from single, unit PFMs to full, arch veneers in the same week. Shade matching that holds across that range is not a one, setting dial. It requires a documented workflow, calibrated equipment, and a technician who reads photographs the way a sculptor reads a maquette.
- Pre-paid two-way shipping, nationwide
- A named technician on every case
- Margins verified against your prescription
- Tempe + Tucson locations

THE DETAIL
How we build it.
Large national, network labs route shade decisions through a centralized color room staffed by whichever technician is available that shift. The economies of scale are real, but the tradeoff is equally real: no single person owns the outcome on your case, and when a shade misses, the remake request goes back into the same anonymous queue. Gilbert doctors who have experienced that cycle once tend not to repeat it. Dani Dental assigns a named technician to each account before the first case ships. That technician learns your preferred shade philosophy (high, value natural, bleach, white cosmetic, matched, to, existing restorations), your camera setup, and your operatory lighting conditions. Over 6 to 12 months, the shade accuracy on your cases improves because the person reading your photos is building a calibrated model of your submission style, not starting fresh each time. On the equipment side, our ceramic workflow uses layering porcelains selected for optical behavior in Arizona's high, ambient, light environment. Practices here often seat restorations under strong natural light or bright operatory LEDs. A shade that looks correct under a northern European gray, sky assumption can read too cool or too flat in a Gilbert operatory in June. We test fired samples under both conditions before signing off on any cosmetic case.
GETTING CASES TO US
Logistics, to the bench.
Dani Dental's shade, matching process starts before the case is assigned. Doctors submit either calibrated intraoral photos against a Vita shade tab or a spectrophotometer export from a Vita Easyshade or similar device. The receiving technician logs the optical data, cross, references adjacent tooth hue and chroma, and builds a shade map before any ceramic is fired. For posterior single units, that map takes roughly 20 minutes. For anterior cosmetic cases where translucency layering, incisal haze, and gingival gradients all matter, the technician blocks protected bench time and treats the shade build as its own production phase. Gilbert doctors get a direct technician line, not a case, manager relay. If the shade photo reads ambiguous under mixed operatory lighting, the technician calls the same day rather than guessing and shipping. That 24, hour catch window has saved more remakes than any single equipment upgrade we have made.
