Henderson Custom Shade Matching

Henderson practices sit at the crossroads of high cosmetic demand and a patient base that scrutinizes results closely. Smile makeovers, single-unit anterior replacements, and full-arch veneers all land in the same production queue at most labs, treated as throughput rather than craft. At Dani Dental, shade matching is a discrete clinical step, not an afterthought handled by whoever is nearest the VITA guide. THE DETAIL

How we build it.

Large national-network labs that service the Henderson zip codes operate at volume that makes individual shade consultation economically impractical. A technician rotating through thousands of units per week cannot build the case-specific intuition that anterior esthetic work demands. Dani Dental assigns a named technician to each account, and that technician's direct line ships with every case. If you have a shade question at 7 a.m. before a seating appointment, you call the person who built the crown, not a general intake queue. Regional discount-tier labs in the Las Vegas metro often lean on pre-shaded zirconia blanks and standardized stain kits to hold price points down. That works for posterior single units where esthetics are secondary. It does not work for a maxillary central in a patient who brought in a reference photo. Our ceramic engineering uses layered feldspathic characterization on high-esthetic cases, with hand-applied internal staining on cases where blanket external glaze would flatten the optical depth. The difference shows in the photo documentation we return with every finished restoration, so you can confirm the shade match before the patient is in the chair.

GETTING CASES TO US

Logistics, to the bench.

Every case begins with a shade consultation that cross-references the submitting doctor's intraoral photos, tab selection, and stump color notation before a single gram of porcelain or zirconia block is committed. For Henderson doctors working with pressed ceramic or layered zirconia, we build shade maps that account for the translucency gradient across the incisal third, mid-body chroma, and gingival cervical depth. Monolithic restorations receive custom stain-and-glaze programming dialed to the surrounding dentition rather than pulled from a default recipe. If a submitting doctor uses an intraoral scanner and shares DICOM or STL files, our digital workflow can simulate the shade outcome before milling, saving a full lab cycle when a chairside correction would otherwise eat 45 minutes of appointment time.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What practices ask

What shade reference systems does Dani Dental accept for Henderson cases?
We work with VITA Classical, VITA 3D-Master, and Ivoclar Chromascop tab selections. If your team uses intraoral spectrophotometry, we accept the numeric readout directly. Photo submissions via the Doctor Kit portal are preferred for all anterior cases: one retracted full-face, one close-up with a tab held adjacent, and a stump photo if the prep is already done.
Can you match a shade to existing restorations rather than natural dentition?
Yes. Matching to existing ceramic or composite restorations is a common request from Henderson practices handling single-tooth replacement adjacent to prior work. Send a close-up photo of the existing restoration in natural light alongside the tab reference. We will note the underlying material type in the case file and adjust our layering approach accordingly. Matching to heavily aged or stained ceramic may require a phone consult with the assigned technician before we commit.
How do you handle shade communication during an active case if I have questions before seating?
Every case ships with the direct contact information for the named technician who built it. For Henderson-area accounts on standard SLA, shade confirmation is sent within 48 hours of receipt. If you have a pre-seating concern, call or text the technician directly. We do not route esthetic questions through a general intake line.
What is your remake policy if the shade does not match at seating?
If the shade deviation is attributable to our production, we remake at no charge. We track remake causes internally: our shade-related remake rate across crown and veneer cases has held below 2.5% over the past 12 months. We ask that the original restoration and a new close-up photo be returned with the remake request so the assigned technician can document the delta and adjust the shade map for all future cases from your practice.
Do you offer custom shade matching for zirconia, not just pressed ceramic?
Yes. Monolithic zirconia receives custom stain-and-glaze programming rather than a default recipe pull. For high-esthetic anterior zirconia cases, we use pre-shaded blanks in the closest base value, then apply hand-layered internal and external characterization to hit the chroma and translucency profile you specify. Full-contour posterior zirconia where esthetics are secondary follows a streamlined stain-only workflow to hold turnaround time.
Is there a photo submission guide available for Henderson doctors new to Dani Dental?
Yes. The Doctor Kit we send to new Henderson accounts includes a one-page photo protocol: camera settings, lighting conditions, retractor positioning, and the three required shots for anterior esthetic cases. If your team uses a DSLR with a ring flash or a mirrorless system, we include camera-specific notes. New accounts can also request a 15-minute onboarding call with the assigned technician to walk through the first case together.
