Surprise Milled Restoration

Surprise sits in one of the fastest-growing corridors in the West Valley. Practices here are adding chairs, not cutting back. That means restoration volume is climbing, and a single slow-turnaround lab can quietly cost a busy office two to three extra patient recall appointments per month just in seating delays. Dani Dental's milled-restoration workflow is built for that kind of volume pressure. Every case starts with a digital file review by the assigned technician within 4 business hours of receipt.

  • Pre-paid two-way shipping, nationwide
  • A named technician on every case
  • Margins verified against your prescription
  • Tempe + Tucson locations

THE DETAIL

How we build it.

Most high-volume national lab networks process Surprise cases through a regional hub routing system. Files queue behind practices in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe that generate more monthly volume, and West Valley offices often see longer effective turnaround even when the posted timeline looks identical on paper. Dani Dental does not tier accounts by volume. A two-chair practice in Surprise gets the same assigned-technician model as a twelve-chair DSO account. The accountability structure is specific. Each milled case ships with the direct extension of the technician who built it. Not a case manager. Not a general inbox. The person who made the crown. That single policy addresses the primary reason dentists switch labs mid-year: they cannot get a straight answer about a case in progress. Response time for case status inquiries is under 2 business hours during production days. Technicians are reachable by phone and by direct email, and both channels are staffed Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Arizona time. On the quality side, milled restorations go through a three-stage QC sequence before shipment: pre-mill file review, post-mill margin inspection under 10x magnification, and shade verification against the submitted photo or VITA shade guide. Restorations that fail any stage are remilled before the case leaves the building. The sub-2.5% remake rate is the downstream result of catching fit and shade issues in-lab rather than at chairside.

GETTING CASES TO US

Logistics, to the bench.

Monolithic zirconia, layered zirconia, and lithium disilicate restorations are milled in-house on calibrated five-axis equipment. No outsourced milling. No third-party queue. For dentists in Surprise sending physical impressions, we convert on arrival using lab-side scanning before anything goes to the mill. Intraoral scan files from iTero, 3Shape Trios, and Medit are accepted natively. The technician assigned to your case keeps the same file from scan intake through final finish, which means the person who calls you about a contact adjustment is the same person who milled the crown. That continuity cuts communication lag and eliminates the relay-game that causes most mid-case delays. Milled units ship via next-business-day courier to Surprise addresses. Rush cases, defined as cases flagged before noon for same-week seating, are handled on a confirmed timeline, not a best-effort one. If the timeline cannot be met, you hear that in the same afternoon call, not the morning the case was supposed to arrive.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What practices ask

What file formats do you accept for milled restorations from Surprise practices?
We accept STL, DCM, and native files from iTero, 3Shape Trios, and Medit scanners. Files upload directly through the case portal or via secure email. For practices still sending physical impressions, we convert on arrival using our in-lab scanner before milling begins. No format conversion fee applies to any standard file type.
How fast can you turn a milled crown for a Surprise patient seated the same week?
Rush cases flagged before noon Monday through Thursday are confirmed for same-week delivery, not placed on a best-effort list. The assigned technician calls or emails with a confirmed ship date within 2 business hours of the rush flag. Next-business-day courier covers Surprise addresses. If the timeline cannot be held, you hear that the same afternoon, not the day before the appointment.
Which materials are available for milled restorations?
Current milled options include monolithic zirconia in standard and high-translucency grades, layered zirconia for anterior esthetics cases, and lithium disilicate blocks for single-unit and three-unit anterior work. PMMA temporaries for implant provisionalization are also milled in-house. Material selection is confirmed during the file review call, and the technician flags any case where a different material would better serve the clinical scenario.
Do you charge more for Surprise cases because of the West Valley location?
No location surcharge applies. Pricing for milled restorations is the same regardless of whether a practice is in Surprise, Scottsdale, or anywhere else in the Phoenix metro. Shipping via next-business-day courier to Surprise is included in the standard case fee. Pricing ranges are available in the Doctor Kit, which ships free to any Arizona practice that requests one.
Who do I contact if there is a fit issue after delivery?
Every shipped case includes the direct extension and email of the technician who built the restoration. Not a central intake line. The technician reviews the clinical photo or impression of the adjustment needed and either remakes or advises on the same business day. Remakes that qualify under our quality policy ship within 3 business days at no charge.
Can a new Surprise practice send a trial case before committing to a lab relationship?
Yes. New accounts are welcome to submit a single milled-restoration case under the standard new-account setup, which takes under 10 minutes through the case portal. There is no minimum volume requirement and no contract. The Doctor Kit includes a new-account checklist, shade guide card, and direct contact information for the technician team before the first case even ships.
